Teen pup ... a ready operating system?

Based on evolutionary (?) puppy linux, this is a distro that has most of the needed applications (by a regular windows user) already inbuilt at the time of installation. Great? huh? Java, flash, multimedia codecs, favourite players already inbuilt? wow! but what happened to me when i opted for installing it?
1) The server at softpedia changes continuously making the download process a bit ( or a lot) awkward.
2) Either i got a corrupted .iso or it just didn't work on my Compaq SR1330IL box. I couldn't get it booted up from the iso
3)Now the main points...
a) It is based on older puppy so just can not install newer softwares from official puppy
repository
b) Doesn't have good hardware compatibility
And i nomore tried to work on it.
phew...
