Ubuntu Printing system amazed me

I just plugged in my printer HP Deskjet D2300 to the USB port and my Ubuntu detected and configured it and showed up to me "Your printer is ready to use". Now I printed a page and it again showed up "You are low on ink". Just like windows. Now I understand why the opensource community calls it as their alternative for windows VISTA.
